Celebrate At Freret Street Festival In New Orleans
April 17, 2018 | Kim Higgins
Freret Street and the area surrounding has been undergoing a resurgence after many years of decline. This resurgence began in the 1990’s when businesses began renovating and new businesses are opening where vacant stores were located. In addition, a small arts district has begun to develop. To celebrate this resurgence, the Freret Street Festival was established in the mid-1990’s and will take place this year on April 7, 2018. The festival is free and is located between Napoleon Avenue and Soniat Street and features live music, food, and artwork, including jewelry, clothing and handicrafts. There will be a kids’ activity area with inflatables, a petting zoo, a clown and much more to occupy children during the fest.
