Why do people live here? Del Oaks residents enjoy the subdivision's convenient location just off of Hwy. 22 in Madisonville on the west side of St. Tammany Parish, bordering the city of Mandeville. This premier neighborhood is nestled in a bend of the tree-shaded Tchefuncte
River. Homeowners enjoy access to a private boat launch on the scenic Bayou Perez, which is connected to the beautiful Lake Pontchartrain by the waters of the Tchefuncte. Other features of the neighborhood include a private park, large lots with mature
vegetation, and wide tree-lined streets. Del Oaks subdivision also has an active Homeowners' Association.
What's the neighborhood like? The homes you would expect to find for sale in Del Oaks generally range from 2,500 to over 4,000 square feet of living space. The subdivision was established in 1984 and most of the just over 100 homes were built in the late 80s, but new houses are
built in the subdivision to this day. Most homes have been built in a traditional or Acadian style, but a few Victorian and French country style homes line the streets as well. The original homes have generally been renovated to include modern bathrooms
and kitchens with custom cabinetry and granite countertops. The homes in this neighborhood usually have between 4 and 5 bedrooms and 2 or 3 full baths. Many homes have an additional game or media room, perfect for entertaining. Nearly all homes are
set on oversized wooded lots with gorgeous landscaping.
What schools will the kids attend? Del Oaks is located within three miles of some of the area's prestigious blue ribbon schools such as Pontchartrain Elementary, Tchefuncte Middle, School and Mandeville High School.
