What's the neighborhood like? Riverwood was established in 1964 and there are nearly 350 homes in the subdivision today. The Riverwood Improvement Association (RIA), lead by a Board of Directors, is a non-profit corporation
dedicated to organizing community activities and enhancing the neighborhood's attractiveness. The homes you would expect to find for sale in Riverwood Subdivision generally have between 4 and 5 bedrooms and between 2 and 4 full baths. Most offer from
2000 to over 4500 square feet of living space. Most of the homes were built in a traditional, Spanish, or ranch style; many of the original homes have been remodeled and now boast beautiful crown molding, high ceilings, and wood floors throughout.
Some of these lovely homes are set on waterfront lots, and a few even have their own private boathouse complete with a hoist.
What's going on near Riverwood? Residents of Riverwood Subdivision have plenty of options for fun and relaxation right at their doorstep. The neighborhood is situated right off of Hwy. 190 near the Causeway Bridge. From the famous ribs and corn grits at the Covington location
of Zea Rotisserie and Grill to the more casual Movie Tavern where servers bring food and drinks straight to your theater seat, there is no
shortage of dining options catering to every palette. Only a few minutes drive away, you can go fishing at the Sunset Point Fishing Pier or catch a breathtaking sunrise or sunset overlooking the beautiful, vast Lake Pontchartrain at the Mandeville Lakefront. On
Wednesdays, check out the Covington Farmers Market at the Covington Trailhead of the Tammany Trace, a 31-mile paved bike trail that connects the main
cities of St. Tammany Parish. The Mandeville Trailhead of the Tammany Trace is also nearby and hosts another Farmers Market on Saturdays. Each Trailhead
also hosts a free concert series in the spring and autumn.
