Whether you are a seasoned writer or a new writer, the annual Words and Music Festival is your perfect event. It is sponsored by Pirate’s Alley Faulkner Society and takes place on September 23-25, 2018 when you can showcase your writing talent. Founded in1990, the Faulkner Society’s mission is to assist new writers in polishing their skills, and during the Words and Music Festival, editors, publishers, critics and other writers will  be on hand to offer critiques. Faulkner House, located across from St. Louis Cathedral at 624 Pirate’s Alley was where Faulkner rented a room in 1925 while writing his first novel, Soldier’s Pay. Today it is known as Faulkner House Books and has been named a National Historical Landmark. Faulkner House Books sells new and used books, including rare editions by Faulkner and other historic writers. The Festival will include readings, seminars, classes and much more!
