Every year St. Patrick's Day is celebrated in New Orleans and throughout its surrounding suburbs; and what better way does New Orleans celebrate than with a parade? These celebratory festivities began when Irish immigrants came to the U.S. bringing their lively St. Patrick’s Day celebrations with them, therefore creating news tradition here. For our New Orleans St. Patrick’s Day parades, you might catch a few unique things that you wouldn't normally catch at any other parade. St. Patrick's parades are known for throwing a wide variety of vegetables such as carrots, onions, potatoes, and cabbage; and of course, everyone wears green!
