Do you love jazz and are you interested in learning more about it? If so, check out the Jazz Museum at the Old U.S. Mint where exhibits and concerts help explain the history of jazz. The Old U.S. Mint is located at 400 Esplanade Ave., New Orleans, LA 70116. It is open Tuesday-Sunday from 10 am till 4:30 pm. On the 3rd floor of the facility is the Performing Arts Center where live broadcasts and musical productions take place. In addition, the Jazz Museum has the largest known collection of artifacts from the world of jazz, including instruments owned and played by important and famous jazz musicians. You can see Louis Armstrong’s cornet, photographs, records, tapes, sheet music, a disc of the first jazz recording ever made from 1917, and many other jazz artifacts and memorabilia.
